I live in Australia and have done so for the past 24 years, but I was born in Ireland. I have been supporting our Pir and the Executive Committee in their activities for the last years.
My first introduction to Sufism was when my girlfriend – now my wife Nuria – gave me a book of Rumi poems during a holiday in Turkey and I was deeply moved by his poetry. We visited Konya where Rumi’s tomb is, and it was a moving experience for both of us.
This experience opened up a whole new world for me as I immersed myself in learning about Universal Sufism, leading to my initiation on 11 January 2001 as a Mureed by Murshid Nawab Pasnak during an Australian Summer School. In the years that followed, I was fortunate enough to travel to Holland for further teachings and initiations by Pir-o-Murshid Hidayat at various International Summer Schools.
